El Athletic Club (en euskera: Bilboko Athletic Kluba; en español: Athletic Club de Bilbao), comúnmente conocido como Athletic Bilbao o simplemente Athletic, es un club de fútbol profesional con sede en la ciudad de Bilbao, en el País Vasco, España. Se les conoce como Los Leones porque su estadio fue construido cerca de una iglesia llamada San Mamés. Mamés fue un cristiano primitivo arrojado a los leones por los romanos. Mamés apaciguó a los leones y más tarde fue nombrado santo. El equipo juega sus partidos en el estadio de San Mamés. Los colores del equipo son las camisetas rojas y blancas con pantalones negros.
El Athletic es el cuarto club más laureado de la Liga, con ocho títulos en su haber.
